ANNOUNCEMENT | A family member of a Dalziel Rugby Club senior player has reported a positive test result for COVID-19 today (24 Sept). The player last trained at the club on Tuesday evening.
As a result, we are suspending all rugby activity at the club till Monday while we review our risk assessment and identify if any action needs to be taken. Therefore, Thursday and Saturday training are cancelled for all squads (Dragons, Youth and Senior).
We would emphasise that we don’t know if the player himself is positive but because a member of his household is positive, we are shutting things down as a precaution.
Our COVID-19 Co-ordinator, Willie Davidson is in contact with Scottish Rugby and NHS Lanarkshire and will ensure the club follows any guidance from them.
We will advise when rugby activities will resume in the next day or so. The health and safety of our players, coaches, members and their families remains of paramount importance and we urge anyone who has any symptoms of COVID-19 (a new continuous cough, high temperature or loss/change of sense of taste) to stay away from rugby and seek a test.
Should you have any questions, please email communications@dalzielrugby.com

Dalziel Rugby Club
